The conference Indisicplines has confirmed the presence of two distinguished researcher and creators as keynote speakers: professor Mika Elo of the University of the Arts Helsinki, and the performer and artistic researcher Alexandra Murray-Leslie, professor at Trondheim Academy of Fine Art.
Professor Mika Elo is a leading expert on artistic research. A recent project was Research Pavilion #3 (2019) in Venice. A prolific writer, his recent publications feature a chapter in the book Transpositions: Aesthetico-Epistemic Operators in Artistic Research (ed. Michael Schwab, 2018) and Figures of Touch (2018), coedited with Miika Luoto.
Alexandra Murray-Leslie is an artistic researcher, performer, poly-artist and cofounder of the international art collective Chicks on Speed.
Her current artistic research and practice explores the connection between art and science, as well as design. Her work has been seen in leading museums and exhibitions, such as the Venice Biennale, MoMA NY, the Centro Pompidou and Ars Electronica.
IndiscipliNES is a conference dedicated to practice-based artistic research. It will take place in Barcelona from 28-30 November 2019.
